Two Deaths and Three Dozen Illnesses Reported in Listeria Outbreak
Amid an outbreak of listeria that has killed two people in the United States and sickened around three dozen others, Boars Head Provisions Co Inc, a Jarratt, Va., establishment, is recalling all liverwurst products produced from July 23 to July 26, 2024.
Products Recalled
The Boars Head recall includes a number of products stamped with an August 10 sell-by date, including bologna, garlic bologna, and beef bologna.
Distribution and Recall
Boars Head is recalling over 200,000 pounds of deli meat that could be contaminated with listeria, according to the Food Safety and Inspection Service. The recall applies to meats sliced at a deli counter, not prepackaged meats.
